Asia Santoku knife with wooden handle, featuring a 16cm tempered steel blade with a thickness of 3mm. This hybrid knife combines the best of Western and Eastern traditions for a highly versatile professional tool. Also known as the “Three Virtues” because it is used for slicing, mincing and chopping, the knife is suitable for use with meat, fish and vegetables. Generally heavier and more angled than a Nakiri knife, the Santoku knife is typically used in Japanese cuisine and features a wide blade, good balance and all-round adaptability in cutting and chopping meat, fish and vegetables. Its versatility and features such as the alignment of the handle with the spine of the blade, as well as the width of the blade itself, make it similar to the classic Western chef’s knife, however it differs in the wider shape of the point and straighter edge of the blade. The Asia series of knives is made of high-carbon steel, which improves the flexibility and chopping power of the blade and guarantees long-lasting sharpness and easy resharpening. The knives feature a typical Japanese—or Wa—handle, consisting of an elegant wooden cylinder.
